Notes on Greece

Today in class we went over some of the powerpoint that Mr. Schick presented to us.  Here are some of the topics and facts that we took notes on:

·      All great civilizations were located on a river. 

Here are some of the great civilizations that began on a river:

v Mesopotamia/ Tigris and Euphrates river

v Egypt/Nile River

v India/Indus River

v China/Huang He River

·      There’s about 1,400 islands off the coast of Greece

·      Mediterranean Sea means – the middle of the earth

·      Greece is considered a peninsula

·      Adriatic Sea is on the west side of Greece

·      Aegean Sea is on the east of Greece

·      Island of Crete is down in south/southeast of Greece

·      Athens on the water

·      Sparta is more inland in Greece
